Irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) – including advice on the Low FODMAP Diet (please note coeliac disease must be ruled out prior to trialling a Low FODMAP diet & a total of 3 appointments is needed , 1 initial consultation & 2 review consultations)

Consultation duration & cost

  • Initial Consultations last 45-60 minutes and costs €130
  • Review consultations last up to 30 minutes and cost €65

“Please note the full consultation fee is payable on booking.

Low FODMAP Diet Package (1 initial consultation and 2 reviews) €280 (can be paid in 2 installments of €140 each).

Is a referral required?

You do not need a referral from your doctor however you will need to provide us with your full medical history, medication list (including any over the counter supplements you are taking), and a copy of any blood results, scan results or medical tests you had done recently. If your doctor or consultant wishes to send me a referral or information on your medical history it can be sent securely to theordinarydietitian@healthmail.ie

Cancellations

24-Hour Notice Required: Any cancellations or rescheduling requests must be made at least 24 hours before your scheduled appointment time.


Late Cancellations & No-Shows: Appointments cancelled, rescheduled with less than 24 hours’ notice, or missed entirely are fully non-refundable, and the full fee will be retained.


If you need to change your appointment outside of the 24-hour window, you can do so directly through your client portal or by emailing info@theordinarydietitian.ie

Can I claim back part of the consultation fee from my private health insurance?

You may be able to claim back part of your dietitian fee through your private health insurance, depending on your plan. Check with your insurer to confirm your cover. You may also be eligible to claim 20% tax relief on qualifying dietitian expenses, as part of tax relief on medical expenses.
